How to Support Us
Help us make support easier to find
Archie George Foundation is being developed to help disabled people and their families, carers and siblings access practical information, suitable services, grant opportunities and peer support.
Your donation can help us build and deliver this work—from printing forms and posting information to providing individual support, developing accessible resources and training the people who help our service users.
Donations also support the essential work behind the service: keeping our website running and our funding directory up to date, maintaining secure communication and record-keeping systems, arranging appropriate insurance, and reaching families who may otherwise struggle to find us.
As the Foundation grows, we aim to develop sensory support packs, peer support sessions and a wider network of trained staff and volunteers.
Fundraising stages coming soon
We are working out the costs and goals for each stage of our mission and will share these when they are ready.
Ways to donate coming soon
Donation details will be added here once they are ready. For now, the examples below show what donations could mean for our cause.
Every contribution can make a difference
The examples below show what donations could contribute towards. They are illustrative estimates, rather than guaranteed purchases or fixed service prices. Unless we expressly offer a restricted appeal, donations will be pooled and used where they are most needed to develop and deliver the Foundation’s work. Any payment platform fees may reduce the amount we receive.
| Donation | What it could help support |
|---|---|
| £1 | Paper, envelopes and printing supplies for families who need help completing forms. |
| £5 | Printing and posting information, application forms or support resources to someone who struggles with digital access. |
| £10 | Materials for a small sensory support pack, tailored to a service user’s needs. |
| £20 | Accessible resources and practical tools to help a disabled person, parent, carer or sibling find suitable support. |
| £30 | Time spent researching suitable grants and services and preparing personalised signposting information for a family. |
| £50 | A 30-minute support call by phone or video, including preparation, written follow-up and relevant service running costs. |
| £100 | A contribution towards application support for several families, including checking requirements, helping organise information, printing and postage where needed. |
| £150 | A contribution towards a staff member or volunteer’s training in areas such as safeguarding, disability awareness, accessibility or supporting carers. |
| £250 | A contribution towards a small peer support session, including accessible resources, preparation and venue or online delivery costs. |
| £500 | Development of the Foundation’s support framework, specialist training and resources to help staff and volunteers provide consistent support. |
| £1,000 | A contribution towards expanding the service through volunteer recruitment, training, outreach and the systems needed to support more families. |
Every contribution helps us take the next step towards making practical, accessible support available to more families.
Become a volunteer — opportunities coming soon
We hope to reopen our doors to volunteers soon. As the Foundation grows, we want to build a welcoming team who share our commitment to helping disabled people, families, carers and siblings find support.
Volunteers will be provided with training appropriate to their role, so they feel prepared and supported. This may include safeguarding, disability awareness, accessibility and supporting carers.
Before starting work or volunteering, volunteers must complete the safeguarding checks appropriate to their role. An enhanced DBS check is required before starting any role legally eligible for that level of check, with barred-list information where the role requires it. Other roles will receive the checks they are legally eligible for.
Government guidance on DBS checks and role eligibility.
We will share available roles, how to get involved and the next steps here when volunteer opportunities reopen.
You can help by spreading the word
Sharing The Archie George List with a family, carer, school or professional who may find it useful is a simple way to support us today. Free information should be easy to find when people need it.
We hope to register Archie George Foundation as a charity in the future. We are not currently a registered charity.
