Accessibility
The website uses readable text, clear headings, labelled controls, visible keyboard focus, native expandable details and layouts that reflow on smaller screens.
Display, reading and translation options
Use Accessibility options near the top of every page to change text size, background colours, contrast, page brightness, spacing and movement. Display choices are saved in this browser; use Reset display settings to return to the original view.
Read aloud reads selected text or visible main content. Pause, Resume and Stop are available. Voices and support vary by browser; this complements your own screen reader.
Translate opens the current public page in Google Translate. The menu prioritises languages reported in Bradford’s 2021 Census language information and offers more languages. Automatic translation can be inaccurate, and does not provide BSL or a human interpreter. Some languages or regions may not be supported.
Using the site
- Use Tab and Shift+Tab to move between links and controls.
- Use the Skip to main content link to pass the repeated navigation.
- Activate an entry’s details with Enter or Space.
- Zoom using your browser. The layout adjusts to keep text readable.
- Results and shortlist counts are announced as status updates.
- Availability is written in words as well as colour.
Other formats
You can download filtered results as CSV, print a shortlist or download the full Excel directory. The workbook has filters, frozen headers, wrapped text, sources and original information.
Known limits
Search and shortlisting need JavaScript. A workbook download remains available without it. Official charity and council websites may have their own accessibility limitations. The website has not had an independent accessibility audit or formal certification.
Browser printing and CSV downloads depend on browser support. Saved entries stay on one device and browser rather than syncing between devices.
